In the spirit of fridge poetry, but not using fridge words, here is tonight's offering:

Water

I am biting my time
and it's bleeding
holding off anxiety

with water
universal solver
cell settler

and I am a nation
undo myself
I tap my fingers

to the beat of your next heart
which may even now
be thumping in someone else.


I am so afraid
to feel this fear
it bubbles up in wine

not the first glass,
but always the second
and I dance a two step

and breathe as if
there is no darkness
and it's all light now,

baby it's all light now.
